Last week, we published our latest Job Market Report which takes a look at job seeking and employment performances for Q4 2013.
Findings revealed an impressive end to the year in regards to job seeking activity, with Q4 demonstrating a continued appetite for employment among UK job seekers.
Standing out was the number of committed job searches, with Q4 outperforming all other periods of 2013. In comparison to Q3, when figures previously at their highest, Q4 delivered +2.54% more job searches. This increase continued the aggressive growth first witnessed in the summer months; between Q2 and Q3, there was an impressive increase of +59.86% more job searches.
The number of job applications made also proved strong, with one in nine searches made during Q4 resulting in a job application.
Administration, customer services and retail industries celebrated a strong quarterly performance, with each making up the top three industries according to applications-per-job rates.
As for the number of advertised jobs, engineering, IT, construction, education and sales offered the best job opportunity.
Mobile ended the year strong, too, with the use of ‘on the go’ devices (smartphones and tablets) outperforming any other period of 2013. The number of job applications made from mobile devices grew by +5.91% when compared to Q3.
